Die Oysterband ist wohl eine der konstant kreativsten Folk/Rock Bands Großbritanniens der letzten 40 Jahre. Seit den Anfängen in den Jahren 1977/78 als Oyster Ceilidh Band und den darauffolgenden Erfolgen und der permanenten Weiterentwicklung über die Jahrzehnte (manchmal eher Rock-orientiert, manchmal eher im Folk-Gewand) sind der Band die musikalischen Visionen nicht ausgegangen.

Textlich gesehen sind die 10 Songs auf dem neuen Album eher politisch grün orientiert, zornig und anklagend. So erschien „The Time Is Now“ in UK als Radio-Single bereits zur UN-Klimakonferenz 2021. Sehr viel persönlicher auf der anderen Seite z. B. der track „The Corner Of The Room“.

23 Alben hat die Band bislang veröffentlicht, darunter etliche mit Preisen bedachte (inkl. fünf BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards). Kompilations und EPs sind hier nicht mitgezählt. Daneben sind John Jones, Alan Prosser und der ehemalige Bassist Ray Cooper (Chopper) auf Solopfaden unterwegs, die drei Gründungsmitglieder Jones, Prosser und Telfer als Oysters3 ab und an auf 'Story telling tour' und mit dem Big Session Festival hat die Band ihr eigenes dreitägiges Festival in England etabliert.
