(Trad. arr. Doggerland)
Reels (riler) came to Norway and western Sweden in the 19th century as a sort of by-product of the lumber trade. The first two in the set are from the Norwegian county of Vestfold, learned from two fiddlers from Sandefjord – Vigdis Andersen and Helle Steinsholt Jansen. The third one is from the repertoire of August Målsson from Skallsjö in Västergötland (Sweden), where reels are called engelskor. We learned it from Jenny (Gustafsson).
